The Team Leader of Technical Assistance of EUROCLIMA, Mr. Jan A. J. Karremans and the RCU Coordinator Mr. Heitor Matallo met in Santiago de Chile on 22th November 2012.
The officers exchanged information, materials and views on modalities of cooperation in the region taking advantage of the RCU office in Santiago. EUROCLIMA is a programme financed by the European Commission with the objective to address the challenges of climate change and to contribute to reduce the vulnerability and improving the living conditions of the population in Latin America. The main objectives of EUROCLIMA are in line with those of the UNCCD 10-years Strategy, in particular those related to the reduction of the vulnerability and socio-economic inequalities and to strengthen the regional dialogue.

El Sr. Jan A. J. Karremans, Director de la Asistencia Técnica de EUROCLIMA, y el Sr. Heitor Matallo, Coordinador de la UCR, se reunieron en Santiago de Chile el 22 de noviembre de 2012.
Los oficiales intercambiaron información, materiales y puntos de vista sobre modalidades de cooperación en la región aprovechando la presencia de la oficina de la UCR en Santiago. EUROCLIMA es un programa financiado por la Comisión Europea con el objetivo de enfrentar los retos del cambio climático y contribuir a reducir la vulnerabilidad y mejorar las condiciones de vida de los habitantes de América Latina. Los objetivos principales de EUROCLIMA están en línea con los de la Estrategia Decenal de la UNCCD, en particular los que están relacionados con la reducción de vulnerabilidades y desigualdades socioeconómicas y el fortalecimiento del diálogo regional.
