Act No. 39 making provision for the protection of bergamot and its derivatives.

The Act consists of nine articles. The controlled designation of origin "Reggio Calabria bergamot essential oil" is recognized by article 1. Such designation may be used only for certain products which meet the requirements and conditions specified by the official processing rules. The designation is valid until the Community registration of the controlled designation of origin "bergamot essence". Such registration may be obtained in accordance with Council Regulation 2081/92.
