The main purpose of this Act is to prevent and limit negative consequences to public health and the environment of transportation of dangerous goods as defined in article 5. The Act shall apply to all kinds of transportation as listed in article 4. The Act defines tasks of controlling authorities and lays down general principles of safety for the transportation of dangerous goods. The Act requires transporters of such goods to be assisted by a safety counsellor.
