The Minister of Environment may, in special cases, grant subsidy for the implementation of pilot projects with regard to the livelihood of small islands. These subsidies shall be granted as loans and the administrative support for the operation of such initiatives shall be supervised by the Secretariat of the Association of Danish Small Islands. The purpose of these loans is to alleviate costs for the environmental and marine protection.
