This Act makes provision for measures to prevent the spreading of diseases affecting animals in Nigeria. It places restrictions on the importation of animals, hatching eggs, poultry, any vaccine serum, toxin, antitoxin, antibody and antigen used in veterinary practice, and infectious agents. It also requires a permit for the exportation of any animal, hatchery eggs or poultry and requires animal diseases to be notified.
