These Regulations amend provisions of the Animals and Animal Products (Examination for Residues and Maximum Residue Limits) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1998 to make supplementary provision to provide for the enforcement of its successor Regulation (EC) No. 470/2009 laying down Community procedures for the establishment of residue limits of pharmacologically active substances in foodstuffs of animal origin which replaces Council Regulation (EEC) No. 2377/90. In addition, these Regulations provide for the enforcement of Commission Regulation (EU) No.37/2010 on pharmacologically active substances and their classification regarding maximum residue limits in foodstuffs of animal origin.
