The various amendments of the principal Act concern, inter alia: issue of certificates, endorsements and documents to merchant marine personnel, communication equipment on board of ships, requirements imposed by the International Convention on Standards of Training, Watchkeeping and Certification 1978, qualifications of seamen, etc.
