This Act is formulated to raise the quality of the environment, advance the health and well-being of citizens, preserve environmental resources, and pursue sustainable development by promoting environmental protection. The Act consists of 41 Articles divided into 5 Chapters: General Provisions (I); Planning and Protection (II); Control and Relief (III); Guidance, Monitoring, Incentives and Penalties (IV); Supplementary Provisions (V).
