The Biodiversity Action Plan for the Conservation of Natural Resources is focused on wild plant and animal species and their related ecosystems and habitats. It deals in particular with the maintenance and restoration of natural habitats and species of wild fauna and flora of Community interest. Moreover, it aims at reversing the current trends of biodiversity loss related to management of water, soil, forests and wetlands. Point 4.1 of the Action Plan pursues the integration of biodiversity into the main spatial policies, namely agriculture, fisheries and aquaculture, urban environment. Further provisions regard the contribution to biodiversity preservation at global level, in compliance with the conventions referred therein.
