This Act provides for the regulation of fishing so as to protect port facilities and coastal zones of Chuuk from overtaxing use by fishing vessels. The Act requires licence to be obtained from the District Treasurer by all persons who operate one of more specified fishing vessels that engage in or conduct high seas fishing (as defined by this Act) from ports, dock, lagoon or anchorage in the State of Chuuk and requires a permission to fish for bait in coastal zones.
