This Circular establishes prohibitions, restrictions and obligations concerning amateur fishing activities in order to sustain natural habitats and to ensure responsible and sustainable fishing activities. The Circular lays down a list of species that may be caught in maritime and inland waters and sets forth related time restrictions, as well as a list of ecologically harmful species. It also specifies those maritime and inland waters where amateur fishing is completely or partially prohibited.
