The purpose of the present Act is to establish climate protection objectives and the creation of a legal framework for the development, implementation, monitoring, reporting and updating of climate protection and adjustment measures. This shall improve the climate protection in Nordrhein-Westfalen, limit the negative effects of climatic changes on the environment and contribute to national and international efforts.
