This Directive lays down some amendments and addenda to Annexes I and II to Council Directive 2002/56/EC, which regulates the marketing of seed potatoes. In particular the amendments concern the minimum conditions to be satisfied by basic seed potatoes and certified seed potatoes, as well as minimum quality conditions for lots of seed potatoes. Further the Directive inserts new provisions relating to the maximum number of generations of basic potatoes.
