The present Regulation lays down provisions pursuant to article 28, paragraphs 3 and 4 of Regulation (EC) No. 2371/2002 as regards coordination and cooperation among Member States to ensure compliance with the Common Fisheries Policy through inspections on fishing vessels. Inspections shall be carried out, on the one hand, by Member States (arts. 1 and 2) and, on the other hand, by Community inspectors (art. 5).
