This Regulation authorizes, for a two-year period from its date of adoption , the placing on the market of infant formulae based on hydrolysates of cows’ milk. The Annex specifies the conditions under which the placing on the market is allowed. Particular regard is given to specifications for the protein source, protein processing and protein quality used in the manufacture of such infant formula.
