Each Member State shall ensure that the total engine power in evidence for its fishing vessels authorized by Regulation (EC) No. 850/98 to use beam trawls inside the area referred to in article 29(1) of that Regulation does not exceed at any time the limit for that Member State as given in the Annex to this Regulation. Each Member State shall indicate definitively to the Commission before 1 February 2001 the limit on the total engine power vessels that actually existed on 1 January 2001. Member
