The present Regulation has been adopted by the Commission pursuant to article 16 (2) of Directive 98/8/EC, which provides for the performance of a 10-year programme of work for the systematic examination of those active substances that have been placed on the market as active substances of biocidal products. This Regulation lays down detailed rules for the implementation of the second phase of such programme.
