This Regulation applies to aid granted to undertakings in the fisheries sector, which means undertakings active in the production, processing and marketing of fisheries products. Aid may be granted by national authorities as long as they comply with the provisions laid down at the European Union level (articles 87 and 88 of the Treaty) on de minimis aid, in the framework of competition law.
