This Conservation and Management Measure of the Western Central Pacific Fisheries Commission (WCPFC) concerns Unique Vessel Identifiers (UVIs) and refers to global (including FAO) instruments in this field. UVIs are useful to quickly and accurately identify vessels and trace and verify their activity over time, irrespective of change of name, ownership, or flag.
