These Regulations provide for enforcement of Commission Regulation (EC) No. 466/2001 setting maximum levels for contaminants in foodstuffs and provide for the implementation of various Directives concerning control, sampling and analysis of contaminants in foodstuffs. The Regulations define a variety of offences in relation with the placing on the market and use of foodstuffs containing prohibited contaminants or contaminants at levels exceeding prescribed maximum levels.
