The merge of the Philippine Cotton Corporation (PCC) and the Cotton Research and Development Institute (CRDI) results in the institution of the Cotton Development Administration (CODA), whose tasks and functions are the improvement of the cotton industry and , accordingly, to the improving conditions of the cotton farmers of the Philippines. The CODA shall encourage cotton farming and sowing in suitable selected areas and in the proper seasons; it shall ensure the farmers' profitability, and the
