This Resolution creates a coherent ecological network as a fundamental instrument of EU policy concerning nature conservation and biodiversity. It results from the application of 2 distinct Community Directives, fundamentally its purpose is to assure the preservation of the listed bird habitats in annex I of Directive No. 79/409/CEE, 2 April (Bird Directive), as well as flora and fauna natural habitats of annex II of Directive No. 92/43/CEE, 21 de May (Habitats Directive), considered significant
