This Decision adopts a multiannual framework programme for Community research, technological development and demonstration activities for the period 2002 to 2006 for the purpose of creating the European Research Area. The programme shall encompass all Community activities envisaged in article 164 of the Treaty establishing the European Community, namely: (a) implementation of research, technological development and demonstration programmes, by promoting cooperation with and between undertakings,
