Decree of 13 February 2006 instituting the “Rio Novo” National Park, in the State of Pará.

This Decree, composed of six articles, institutes the “Rio Novo” National Park, located within the Municipalities of Itaituba and Novo Progresso, in Pará State. The aim is to grant ecosystem preservation and, at the same time, scientific research and eco-tourism development. The Decree delegates the forest’s administration competence to the Brazilian Institute for Environment and Renewable Natural Resources, IBAMA.
