This Decree creates the extraction area of "Marinha do Delta do Parnaíba" within the States of Piauí and Maranhão in order to guarantee the sustainable exploitation and the conservation of natural renewable resources that have traditionally been exploited by local communities. The Decree hands over the area in concession to the native people free of any charge.
