Decree establishing protective measures against transmissible spongiform encephalopathies and the use of animal proteins in animal feeding.

The present Decree lays down particular measures to prevent and control transmissible spongiform encephalopathies. To this end, the use of animal proteins (as defined Ander article 1) in animal feeding is prohibited, with the exceptions specified by article 2. The marketing, importation and exportation of such animal proteins is prohibited as well (art. 3). Article 4 concerns analyses to be carried out on bovines in order to detect the presence of bovine spongiform encephalopathy.
