This Decree-Law creates the Intermunicipal Service for water abstraction and treatment from Algarvian rivers, according to article 1 of Decree-Law No. 379/93 of 5 November. It consists of 6 articles creating the aforementioned service the aim of which is to carry out controls on water and environmental pollution (in particular marine water) within the following Municipalities: 'Albufeira, Alcoutim, Aljezur, Castro Marim, Faro, Lagoa, Lagos, Loulé, Monchique, Olhão, Portimão, São Brás de Alportel
