This Decree-Law creates the Food Quality and Security Service. It consists of 23 article establishing composition, duties and competencies of this food institution the aim of which is to guarantee food quality standards and to enforce security controls on food for human and animal consumption. Veterinary controls on animal feedstuff are carried out by the aforementioned institution.
