This Decree-Law creates the Port Institution of the South (IPS) and repeals the Autonomous Algarvian Port Commissions of 'Sotavento' and 'Barlavento do Algarve'. It consists of 11 articles and 1 Annex establishing the Regulation governing the Statute of the aforementioned fishing institution entitled to manage and improve harbour sector within coastal areas, inspections to be carried out, etc. It specifies its composition, duties and competencies.
