Decree-Law No. 43/2002 on the Maritime Authority System.

This Decree-Law deals with the organization and functions of the Maritime Authority System (SAM) and creates the National Maritime Authority (AMN). The aim of this Decree-Law is to establish competencies and duties of the aforementioned institutions, which main activity is to carry out controls and inspections on vessels navigating on the waters under national jurisdiction.
