This Decree-Law approves EC Council Directive No. 98/58 of 20 July establishing minimum animal protection for stockbreeding purpose. It consists of 3 chapters and 1 annex specifying all the animals covered by this protecting measures, owner obligation, controls to be carrt out by competent authority and sanctions to be paid for illegal activity. Annex specifies the requirements to be satisfied for keeping in health animals within breeding infrastructures (regulating animal feeding).
