With this Directive, the Director of Fisheries, in accordance with section 27 of Decree No. 1589 of 2005 to regulate fishing for mackerel in 2006, effectively closes the season for fishing for mackerel for vessels fishing with line or nets. An exemption is made for vessels of a total length of under 10 metres. Infringement of this Directive shall be punished in accordance with section 53 of the Sea-water Fisheries Act of 1983.
