This Decree institutes the National Institute for Sea and Frontiers, IMAF, the coordinating and implementing body for maritime and frontiers related issues. The IMAF is established as a legal subject with administrative and financial autonomy. The Decree annexes its Statute defining the functions, internal organization and related competences. Finally, the Decree extinguishes the Inter-Ministerial Commission for Frontiers set under Decree No. 16/97 of 1 July 1997.
