This Decree applies to fishing with cod trawls by Norwegians and foreigners in the Norwegian Economic Zone north of 62° N, the Fisheries Protection Zone of Svalbard and the territorial and inner waters of Svalbard. A sorting grid with a distances of 50 or 55 mm between the ribs, depending on the area where the fishing takes places, shall be compulsorily installed on cod trawlers. Sections 5 to 20 specify the type of sorting grates that may be used and prescribe technical specifications.
