The Civil Code is amended in Book 6 so as to implement Council Directive 1999/34/EC to amend Council Directive 85/374/EEC on the approximation of the laws, regulations, and administrative provisions of the Member States concerning liability for defective products. This Act defines "product" as a movable item, even if this movable item subsequently forms part of another movable item or immovable item.
