This Decree applies to fishing and hunting vessels of a length of 15 meters and more and implements Council Directive setting up a harmonised safety regime for fishing vessels of 24 metres in length and over of 1997. It applies to newly constructed vessels but in part also to existing vessels. Chapter 9 makes provision for radio communication equipment, whereas Chapter 10 provides for navigation equipment including signals.
