The present Decree has been enacted to establish a marine portected area to be known as Capo Gallo - Isola delle Femmine, for the purposes described in article 3, which cover inter alia: (a) the protection of natural resources; (b) the promotion of the knowledge of the ecological and biological aspects of the marine environment; (c) performance of scientific studies and research.
