Directive No. 07/2001/CT-BTS prohibiting the use of chloramphenicol and managing chemicals and veterinary drugs in the production of aquatic goods.

The Directive bans the use of choramphenicol and regulates the use of other antibiotics in all the procedures related to the production, processing, preserving and handling of crustaceans and fish products. Moreover, it Decrees the necessity for inspections at production/processing sites, the reporting of results to the Ministry. This Directive is compliant with the Codex Alimentarius.
