This Order, as well as providing for the slaughter of cattle affected or suspected of being affected with bovine spongiform encephalopathy ("BSE") and cattle which are in contact with cattle affected with BSE of which appear to be otherwise exposed to the infection of BSE, now provides for the slaughter of cattle born on or after 1st August 1996 which are offspring of cattle affected or suspected of being affected with BSE.
