Environment Protection Act, 2001: Nomination of the Environment Protection Department as the competent Authority.

The Minister responsible for the environment shall nominate a person or body to be the competent Authority for purposes of the Environment Protection Act, 2001 under provisions of Part III of that Act. The Minister hereby nominates as such the Environment Protection Department, provided that the minister may, by Regulations issued under the Act, establish that another person or body "shall be responsible for the performance of such Regulations.
