These Regulations implements Council Directive No. 91/492/EEC laying down the health conditions for the production and placing on the market of live bivalve molluscs. They apply to live bivalve molluscs which are intended for immediate human consumption or for further processing before consumption and, with the exception of the provisions on purification, to echinoderms, tunicates and marine gastropods, but shall not apply to the transport of any such products in small quantities by coastal fish
