These Regulations amend the European Union (Protection of Animals at the Time of Killing) Regulations 2013 so as to clarify the existing rules on emergency killing to confirm that emergency killing in slaughterhouses are subject to the general rules and the provisions for emergency killing. The Regulations also remove the provisions on arrest without warrant for breaching the Regulations.
