This basic fisheries legislation regulates fishing both within fresh and marine waters of Guyana. The 36 sections of the Act make provision, inter alia, for the registration of fishing boats and related matters, inspection of fishing boats, licences for fishing and exportation of fish, enforcement, offences and penalties.
