This Act concerns the ban on the practice of driftnet fishing in all waters over which Samoa claims jurisdiction and the area of the Wellington Convention. The Wellington Convention refers to the Wellington Convention for the Prohibition of Fishing with Long Driftnets in the South Pacific (sect. 2).
