The amendment to the principal Regulations introduces a prohibition to own or to be in possession of a trawler or a trawl net within the Kenyan waters of Lake Victoria or within a radius of ten kilometres landward from any point on the entire shoreline of the Kenyan waters of Lake Victoria. Regulation 2 of the principal Regulations is amended so as to introduce definitions of "trawl net" and "trawler". Authorized officers may seize and detain nets or trawlers under specified circumstances.
