This Act establishes the Guyana Lands and Survey Commission as a body corporate. The Commission shall be the successor to the Lands and Surveys Department. Its functions shall be to take charge of and supervise all public lands, rivers and creeks in Guyana, to carry out various surveys ob land and water resources of Guyana, to control and administer land surveys in Guyana, to establish and maintain a national survey control system, to evaluate offers for public land and to issue grants or leases
