The purpose of the present Law is: 1) to conserve forests because of their economic utility, their importance for the environment, and in particular as living space for wild living animals and wild growing plants, for the climate, water resources, pollution of the air, fertility of the soil; 2) to ensure a sustainable and sound management of the forest, 3) to promote forestry and 4) achieving a harmonization between the public interest and the interests of forest owners.
