This Instruction stipulates that epizootic monitoring shall aim to timely identify the introduction and spread of the avian flu virus among wild waterfowl populations with a view to take adequate preventive and antiepidemic measures for the human population. In the process of such monitoring, the number, distribution and activities of relevant species shall be taken into consideration. The following shall be taken for laboratory analysis from natural habitats: (a) birds and nestlings; (b) eggs;
