The present Act establishes the legislative framework relating to fisheries as well as the preservation of aquatic habitats. The Act is composed of eight Chapters dealing with classification of watercourses, protection of aquatic habitats and ecosystems, measures to promote fisheries, fishing licences and permits, inspection and checks, offences and penalties to be applied in case of infringement.
