This Law establishes the authorities and duties of the competent authorities, the responsibilities of food business operators, the official controls and also imposes various administrative measures, further determines the offences and related penalties, all necessary for the correct implementation of the: Regulation (EC) No. 852/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 29 April 2004 on the hygiene of foodstuffs, as last amended by Regulation (EC) No. 219/2009; Commission Regulation
